Author Guidelines

General guidelines

  1. STEM Education International publishes articles (research-based and conceptual articles) in the area of STEM education.
  2. The article must not be submitted for publication elsewhere or an extended version of previously published papers in conferences and/ or journals.
  3. The author can withdraw his/her submission only before the review process. 
  4. The article must be written in English.
  5. For double blind review, the submission should be in two files (with & without authors' details)

Manuscript Text

  1. The manuscript should be formatted in one column using 12 pt Gisha font type, 1 space in the A4 paper and justified alignment in Microsoft Word, at least the 2007 version. 
  2. The title should be accurate, unambiguous, and in the form of specific words, not sentences. Do not contain infrequently used abbreviations. The title must be capitalised, in bold, 16 pt Gisha font, single-spaced, left-aligned, and a maximum of 20 words. 
  3. The author’s name should be in 12 pt font size, left alignment, and without any academic degrees. The affiliation of all authors should be provided underneath in 10 pt font size and left alignment, and indicated in order of number for each different affiliation. Authors with the same affiliation must be in the same tag
  4. The corresponding author should be indicated using the Asterix sign (only if there is more than one author).
  5. Abstracts concisely describe the purpose, method, and result of the research and are no more than 300 words. A reasonable graphical Abstract is also required
  6. Keywords are any terms related to the general issue(s) of the articles and written with a maximum of 5 keywords, separated by a comma (,).
  7. Table: the table should be in APA Style table and identified using the number and title above the table in 12 pt font, single space, left alignment, Sentence case except for phrases, and positioned in left-right alignment. The table should be presented only in a horizontal line and explained or mentioned in the paragraph (font size adjustment is allowed).
  8. Figure: The figure should be presented in average to high resolution, identified using a number and title above the table, written in single space, and 12 pt left alignment. The figure should be explained/mentioned in the paragraph (font size adjustment is allowed).
  9. All issues regarding permission of citation or software utilisation during the process of the paper, or any issues regarding Intellectual Property Rights related to the author, including their legal consequences, will be the author's responsibility.
  10. The Board can make necessary changes or adjustments to language properties without altering the substance. Substance editing should first consult with the author.
  11. Each title part should be written in different types and not in numbering format: 
    HEADING 1 (CAPITALIZED ALL FONT, BOLD, LEFT-ALIGNMENT, 12 pts), Heading 2 (Title case, bold, left-alignment, 12 pts), Heading 3 (Title case, italic bold, left-alignment, 12 pts)
  12. Citations and References are in the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition style. A reference manager application such as MendeleyEndNote, or Zotero is preferable.
  13. Authors are required to disclose the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscripts. This includes, but is not limited to, tools used for generating text, improving language quality, checking grammar, creating images or figures, analysing data, or summarising literature.
